Rising STAR: Week 1 (July 6-10) and Week 5 (Aug 3-7)
Classical: Week 2 (July 13-17)
Musical Theater: Week 3 (July 20-24) and Week 6 (Aug 10-14)
Songwriting & Production : Week 4 (July 27-31)

Age & Levels: Ages 5–12 | All Levels Welcome. No prior music experience is required.
Location: Above the Notes Studio in Manhattan: 244 E 59th St. 2F
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Morning 9AM-12PM: Entering Grades K-2
Afternoon 1PM-4PM: Entering Grades 3-5
Enrollment: Families may enroll in any individual week(s) or all weeks for a discounted rate.
Snacks: Students should bring their own snacks and water bottles. (*Please let us know if your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions)
Friday Performance: Every week ends with a performance open to friends and family!

Final Performance: At the end of the week, parents and friends will be invited to a performance showcasing original songs co-written by the students, and a jam session where students will have the opportunity to play each instrument.

SONGWRITING & PRODUCTION
Week 4 (July 27-31)
🎶 Introduction to a variety of instruments: Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Voice. (Will accommodate students at any level)
🎶 Intro to GarageBand, MIDI, and other music technology tools
🎶 Music technology games and composition
🎶 Creative lyric writing
🎶 One-on-One lessons for each instrument
🎶 Individualized feedback for original songs
🎶 Music theory games
🎶 Exploring song structure and rhyme
🎶 Building confidence as performers!
Final Performance: At the end of the week, parents and friends will be invited to a performance showcasing original songs by the students.
*For an additional price, students are able to have their song recorded, mixed, and mastered by a professional producer!!!

Is this camp suitable for beginners?
Yes! We accommodate students of all levels. Whether you've never picked up an instrument before, or you've taken years of classes, Above the Notes camp will take you to the next level of musicianship!
How are students grouped?
Young musicians entering Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be placed in our morning group, Monday-Friday 9AM-12PM.
Young musicians entering 3rd grade through 5th grade will be placed in our afternoon group, Monday-Friday 1PM-4PM.

Can my child do more than one week?
Yes! Students may do as many weeks as they'd like! Every week will be unique, including weeks that repeat the same theme (i.e. Rising Star and Theater Camp)!
Can my child do one day a week?
No, this camp is week-by-week enrollment. Each week is a curated curriculum, preparing for the final Friday performance.
If a student can not attend every day Mon-Friday, we encourage students to take private lessons instead of enrolling in the camp program.
What is the tuition?

Where do I pick up/drop off my child?
Morning Class (K-2):

What does my child need?
Students should bring a water bottle and a snack daily. They may bring their own instruments if they'd like, but it is not required. Instruments will be provided by Above the Notes.
What if my child wants more lessons?
Above the Notes offers one-on-one lessons for all ages (including adults) after camp hours. Please click on our "What We Offer Page" for more information on scheduling, pricing, and lessons.
