Music Theory & Musicianship Classes

Music Theory & Musicianship Classes

Music theory and musicianship lessons are the essential pillars of musical education. In order to play a musical instrument, students need to gain a deeper understanding of how music works—to learn the language of music. This important foundational class will delve into understanding notation, rhythm, harmony, melody, and a musical form.

Music Theory & Problem-Solving
Music theory fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Beyond simply learning the fundamentals, as students begin analyze and deconstruct musical compositions, they will also develop the ability to recognize patterns, identify relationships between musical elements, and make informed artistic decisions. These analytical skills will even benefit students in various academic and professional pursuits.
